Who are these two men mentioned in the probate?
In this probate record of Lars Nilsson Björn, (b. 1880 Vidskofle, d. 2 Jan 1848 Stabbarp, Gullarp, Malmöhus) his widow and two sets of children are listed, as expected.
åbon Per Nilsson i Stabbarp is made a guardian. It does not say that he is a brother or any kind of relative to Lars, the deceased. Does this mean he is just a neighbor or friend?
(As I understand it, Mårten Persson & Jöns Nilsson are appraisers.)
In the signatures at the end, Per Nilsson and Ohla Nilsson sign.
I was hoping they are brothers of Lars, but can I assume that? -- these are very common names after all-- how do I know ?

You should look to find Lars Nilsson's family when he was young to see if he has brothers named Per and/or Ohla (or any of the common variations of those two names). There should be household records that include all members of the family. Finding those records would answer your questions.

In Family Search Tree, Lars Nilsson Björn is said to have been born in 1800 in Vidskofte, Torrlösa, Malmöhus, Sweden. I am presuming that information came from the Household Records for Gullarp, Malmöhus, Sweden which only gives the farm name-Widsköfle. There is a village in Torrlösa parish in Malmöhus with that name, but there is also a farm by the same name in Vittskövle parish in Kristianstads County. I found a Lars Nilsson born in 1800 there, but I haven't done any follow-up to make sure it could be the same as your ancestor-it is a pretty common name! That record is here: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0062696_00162#?c=&m=&s=&cv=161&xywh=335%2C1070%2C2993%2C1607 . One possible problem with this is that the place where he is born is Herremöllan, but it might be worth looking into.

I'll look into that.
Thank you.
