What does "bid on this place" mean

I believe "budde" is just a misspelling of "bodde", which means "lived". It is used twice in this sentence, and it makes much more sense in context.

It's a Nynorsk or dialect form of bodde. There are other Nynorsk/dialect words in this small text as well.

If I may, let me offer two minor corrections to the above.
There are no spelling errors and it's not that there are some Nynorsk/dialect words in the text, the entire thing is in Nynorsk. The author of the Bygdebok would not mix up Nynorsk and Bokmål in his writing. It's just that some words are the same in both of these official written languages.
Translating the above to Bokmål, it would be:
"Vi vet med visst først hvem som bodde her i 1865, men det er vel rimelig å tro at en av humannsfamilien i 1801, bodde på denne plassen."
