Sweden: Cohabitation in disguise?
I ran into this record for Nils Persson in Esarp, Malmöhus, Sweden.
Do you think these two were living together?
Nils' wife died in 1874, and this woman moved in in the 1880s. She moved out a year after Nils' death. She is not listed with the other drangen and pigan in this section (Alberta 5).
What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

Nils Persson was a Undantagsman, which means that when he sold his property, in the contract he got the lifelong right to live on that property and got the living from that place. Elna Nilsson was a piga (maid) and she moved in at 8 Nov 1889. I think that she was just living with Nils Persson and maybe working for him, no relationship.

Thank you! Turns out that they were also related, probably explains some of it. Thanks again!

Good that you found out that they were related. I only looked the previous book and did not follow her more. It was quite common that relatives took care of their elderly.
