Hello all,
Anyone have good ideas where I could find or search possile son - father relationship for these people below . Seems the St Catharina German Lutheran Church St Petersbugh, Russia records are missing just that particular year 1848 (send also email to the record holder, but email addressses seems not to work https://rgia.su/old/showObject.do?object=27808979&viewMode=H_10700&link=1 ) . Is there any other possible sources, or searchable databases for example newspapers, official city papers or similar which I could try to find these people from St Petersburgh.
This Latvian one is great place to find http://www.periodika.lv/#advancedSearch , but there seems not be any info for that.
Possible father
Carl Friedrich Ferdinand von Wiesen (Визенъ-фонъ, Карлъ-Фердинандъ)
born 15.12.1810 Riga, Latvia
dead 21.9 1855 St Petersburgh, Russia
buried Smolenskoe Lutheran Cemetery, St Petersburgh, Russia

And possible son
Nicolai Georg von Wiesen (Николаи Георг вон Wиесен)
born most probably 1848 (St Petersbugh, Russia?)
dead 5.5.1882 St Petersburgh, Russia

I think I need help from someone who speaks Russian language, I cant find anything. Maybe those records are destroyed? I also asked from familysearch com and they are investigating why records are missing.
Я думаю, что мне нужна помощь от кого-то, кто говорит на русском языке, я ничего не могу найти. Может быть, эти записи уничтожены? Я также спросил от com FamilySearch, и они расследуют, почему отсутствуют записи.

Hi! The records linked above from Yandex are a valuable resource in Germans from Russia research, but they are from fond 2292, which is a collection of Roman Catholic church books. I found that information here: https://spbarchives.ru/infres/-/archive/cgia/2292. Your ancestors are Evangelical Lutheran so that will not apply to you. As for the second link to the RuTracker page, there are some records from the St. Petersburg Historical Archive there, but I wasn't able to find any that apply to your specific situation. Your records come from fond 828, opis 14. I found a geographic list of records in those collection. It will take some time to read through, but I think you can do it even though you don't speak Russian! Here is a link to the website: https://rgia.su/imageViewer/img?url=nouLjcLOz8nKztmMmo2WnpPCztmQnZWanIvCzcjHz8fGyMbZmI2Qio/Czw==
You can navigate between pages using the tool bar at the end. The listing of individual parishes and the years that they cover begin on image number 15 (the box in the lower right hand corner), but p. 13 if you are going by the handwritten number on the image itself. I skimmed through the pages until I got to image 38 (handwritten p. 36) where I found mention of your church. As highlighted in the screenshot that is attached below, you will find the year in the second column, and then in the third column, you should be looking for these key words: г. Петербург this translates to city of St. Petersburg. When you see this, you will find a list of churches/parishes in the city of St. Petersburg below. The name of your church will be something like this: Св. Екатерины (немецкая). I hope this enough to get you started. Please let me know if you have any questions. This is a list of all records that the archive has so if records from 1848 are not on this list, then it is very likely that the records were either lost or destroyed.

Yes, the Saint Petersburg Archives website has some great records digitized, but they do not have the fond that you need digitized currently. I will see if I can find some time to read through the rest of the list of geographical locations for you.

I would really need some people to help me with this, and if these records dont exists, then I would need some other sources where this kind of information could be find. Myabe some information could be linked from cemetary infoes, but I havent found where that Georg Nicolai is buried.

I finished looking through that list and did not see any records for 1848 available. They have probably been lost over the years.
As for the cemeteries, here's a link to the Find A Grave of the Smolenskoe Lutheran cemetery. This appears to be the most well known Lutheran cemetery in Petersburg. If they don't show up in the index, you can always put in a request and maybe someone who lives local will go out and find it for you. https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2273070/smolenskoe-lutheran-cemetery
As for alternative records, it looks like there might be some revision list (taxation records that are similar to a census) available from about 1850: https://spbarchives.ru/infres/-/archive/cgia/479/23?_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_onlyWithImages=true&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_delta=20&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_keywords=&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_advancedSearch=false&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_andOperator=true&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_orderByCol=unitNumber&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_orderByType=asc&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_resetCur=false&_archivestore_WAR_archivestoreportlet_cur=1
From here, I would probably recommend that you hire a researcher in Russia to move forward. I have some contacts in Russia and can send you their information in a private message if you would like.

Hi Ellie, I need to think that researcher maybe, I got some answers in https://forum.vgd.ru/33/109287/ but not yet any proof who is parents of Georg Nicolai. You can send me those informations in private, thanks.
