My question is can the sources just be a family search link with a citation or does there have to be a pdf?

When you are on the Sources tab of a person page in the tree, you will see the tool to +Add Source. This tool will give you 3 options
a) Add New Source
b) Add New Memory Source
c) Add From Source Box

If you wish to create a source that links to just about anything out on the internet with a URL you would use the first option. If you want to upload a source document that you possess, the second option will allow you to upload any file that Memories can accept (PDF is one of the accepted file formats).

@Stephen9594 Thank you for testing early access CET. A .pdf file is not required to add a source. Both "research hints" and "sourcelinker" are good tools to help you add a source.

@Robert Kehrer, currently is there any way for one to go to a record on FS (like in the course of simply doing research) and link it from the record page to a person in CET? I can't seem to manage it, it seems that the only thing you can do from a record/source page is link the record to a person in the big FS Tree.
