As you are asking about the cause of death: unless I'm mistaken, none is mentioned. There is a longish text in this column - which (I believe) is connected completely with the previous entry. I wanted this to be confirmed and therefore have posted the problem on Anna Wydler (1683 - 1749): Todesursache?.

Schützenmeister (rifle master - some sort of military rank) Rudolf Sidler had been kicked by a horse in the commons and died in the "Spital", where he also had held some sort of position (Abwart?). It may just have been lack of space why nothing was noted.

I have found Anna Wyder's baptism: Gossau 27.04.1684. The longish story has been summarized on Anna Wyder (1684-1749) oo Caspar Sidler. Born out of wedlock to a mother from Gossau with a father from Erlenbach - who ran off. You'll find all the interesting links in the forum.

I had discussed this also with Hans Ulrich Pfister - and this resulted in two more "jobs" for you:

According to his decade old notes Hans Jacob was baptised on 22.09.1720 in Ottenbach as well: could you have another look?

Possibly more interesting for you: Caspar Sidler (1663) died (or was buried) in Thalwil 09.06.1732.
