GEDCOM Error Review
I uploaded a GEDCOM file today and was notified of two errors. An orange banner at the top of the screen provided the alert and allowed me to click a link to see the errors.
"Some of the data in this GEDCOM file was not uploaded correctly. View imported tree differences."
The individual's names associated with the errors were displayed underneath a label on the right hand side of the screen: "Needs Review". When I click on the down array I see the cause of the error and there's a link to "Mark Reviewed". When I click on the "Mark Reviewed" link, the Error box is moved underneath a new heading labled: "Marked Reviewed". I did this for both errors and the "Needs Review" label goes away.
However, when I click on the down arrow for one of these errors, I see the original cause of the error, as before, and a link labeled: "Needs Review". I clicked on the link to see what would happen, and the error box is moved from the "Marked Reviewed" area back to the "Needs Review" area. Why? What would be the purpose just moving these error boxes back and forth?
In addition, after marking both of the errors reviewed, I still see the orange banner at the top of the screen. I expected that to go away. I also expected the error boxes to go away once I marked them reviewed. It doesn't seem like anything under the hood is happening in response to user reviews. I'd like a way to dismiss the orange banner.

Michael,
Thanks for reporting this. We've had a bug into the engineering team on this specific issue and it is being worked on. Here's how it is supposed to work and how it will work when it is fixed:
BACKGROUND:
Users have proven to be very interested in every spot where the uploaded Gedcom differs from the data that was actually included in their new tree. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as missing or indecipherable data. It might be caused by what the remote genealogy software put in the file, or it might be caused by our system's inability to make sense of what it received.
IDEAL FLOW:
• A user who clicked to review the imported tree differences will see a persistent slide in panel on the right hand side listing all of the errors.
• The user may click the name of each person listed and the main portion of the screen will jump to the person page in the tree for that person, where the the user can make any data corrections.
• When the user has resolved an error they may mark it as reviewed and it will be automatically closed and moved to the "Marked Reviewed" section below. After that they may click the next person with an error and the main part of the screen will jump to the next person page.
• When all errors have been resolved/reviewed, the user will have a way to permanently dismiss the errors side panel. They will be informed that this will permanently hide all error tools since all upload errors are resolved. If they agree, the side panel and all banners will be removed.Robert Kehrer, Sr Product Manager
