Where is sterenezya Lublin??
Hi eveyone,
I was looking through the Stammblätter of Germans in Radom and came across an Aunt of mine. She was the only one, it seems, not born in Radom from the children, which is odd as the family was in Radom before and then came back after.
My question is, where is sterenezya Lublin? I tried to search for it using the Polish map tool but with no luck. It says she was part of the sterenezya Lublin Evangelical church there and born on 4 February 1921.
I have attached the picture, as it seems that I might have the spelling off as it is blurry.
I would appreciate some help finding this place so I can find her records.
Thanks.
Matthias

Searxh for Lublin Poland in familysearch Wiki and several databases appear. Hopefully someone experienced in Polish research can help further. You can make an online appointment with the Family History Library for one hour segments. https://go.oncehub.com/ResearchStrategySession

Please note that there were 4 Stężyca communities in Poland according to Skorowidz Miejscowosci Rzczypospolitej Polskiej year 1934, then enter page No. 1627. There were two Stężyca communities in Lublin region, but they had listed Parish records only for Roman-Catholic Churches and (p = prawoslawny) Russian Orthodox Church. There was Stężyca in Poznań region, near Kościan, with Evangelical Church in Lubiń. There were 3 Stężyca communities in Pomerania, i.e. Stężyca Krolewska, Stężyca Szlachecka, and Stężycka Huta, all three had Evangelical Parish in Stężyca.
Currently according to map of Poland (use pilot.pl for mapa.szukacz.pl) there are 6 Stężyca communities in Poland, 1 in Pomerania, near Kartuzy, 1 in Lublin wojewodztwo, near Ryki, 3 in Lublin wojewodztwo, by Krasnystaw.

Hi,
I wonder whether the last letter of "sterenezya" could possibly be the letter "n". Then the town name would be similar to the town name "[Nowy] Stręczyn" (German name: Neu-Strenschin).
Kind regards1 -
Hi @hehesani63 ,
That is a good point. I am not really sure. Its very difficult to decifer, and could be either one. They were German so being in Nowy Stręczyn would make sense. I am not sure why they were there either as their family was in Radom, they were from Radom, and it seems they decided to have their first child there, and then move back to have the rest of the children in Radom?
Doesnt make much sense, I found it odd to find one of the sisters born there.
I will have to see if they have evengelical records there as I wasnt able to find any for sterenezya. And no records for Mathilde Keller
Thanks,
Matthias

Hi,
The birth entry for Mathilda Keller should be on the following familysearch film:
5479646
Poland, Lublin, Chelm, Cyców, church records
Births, marriage intentions, deaths (Akta urodzeń, zapowiedzi, zgonów), 1918-1935
(file 00295, reg.no. 17, addendum no. 00296)The unnamed child of Eduard Keller and Emilia Friddenberg was born at Stręczyn Nowy in February 1921.
I found this information on the website www. sggee. org, where they have a special database for records from the Lublin area.
Now the problem: the film cannot be viewed at familysearch and I don't know whether it is online somewhere else. Maybe @Eppich Maria can help?Kind regards

That is amazing! Thank you so much @hehesani63 . I would have never of found this!

@hehesani63 maybe you know more about the Lublin area. But I know after WW1 a lot of Germans from Radom were deported eastward. Do you know if maybe Lublin was an area they were sent to? I am trying to figureout what they were doing all the way out there?

Hi @Eppich Maria ,
Thank you for finding and translating the document!
I am going to have to do some searching of this place, I never knew my aunt and great grantparents were there. I thought they only stayed in Radom.
I am also wondering, did Radom oversee this disctrct, as you mentioned "Cyców, Gebarzow, Kreis Radom" and I also see this place "Nowy Stręczyn, gmina Cyców, Kreis Chełm"
Best,
Matthias
