Helper Mode, sometimes works, mostly doesn't

When I click on help others and then use the 'full name, birthday, helper number' system for access a patron's tree, I get a message saying basically, 'try again later.' I try over and over again; I wait; I try the next day; it is glitching way more than it's working and is really complicating helping our youth get ready for their next temple trip. What am I missing?

Although the ways you can use a helper number are still allowed, they are being discouraged in favor of sending an invitation and helping people through the Planner. This has several advantages for the helper and the helpee:

• The list of helpees is in one place
• From the planner, a single click gets you into helper mode
• The helper no longer has to keep track of personal details for each person they want to help
• The permission to help has to be renewed each year, so the helpee doesn't have an indefinite time when someone can make changes under their name
• The helpee can revoke permission for a particular helper; using the helper number, the only way to revoke permission is to change the helper number, which revokes permission for all helpers.
• It's a more secure system — if a helper was careless with the helpee's information, someone else might be able to make changes under the helpee's name.
