Help with this Norwegian baptism record, translation, pertinent information
I'm trying to find and verify information that was given on Peder Pedersen ML8G-9YC. The record was mergeded by DagMelheim. Peder Pedersen Helset G9DR-L6V(deleted person) was my original record. The Baptism date is for when he was 23-26years old, the place is the same, yet the birthdate seems very off. He was born in 1722 or 1719 according to the Family Search record, Yet was Baptized in 30 Dec 1745. And died in 1808 according to the family search record. I would like to discover the truth but am having difficulty finding anything at all. This is the only thing I can find so far. Can you please help me by translating the 5th record down on this page, and giving me all information listed across both pages so I can understand as much as possible about this event? I hope this is a record of something I can use. I don't even know if this is the correct person to merge to in family search, as part of the information is the same, yet the dates don't seem to match, unless he wasn't born in 1722, or he was baptized at the age of 23 years old. My original record G9DR-L6V didn't have parents listed and had a birth year of 1719 not 1722. So maybe these two people are not the same and I should unmerge them. Please help me with this dilemma. All I can do in this case is to translate this record. I have no idea if this is the person you are looking for! It states that Peder Pedersen (Peder the son of Peder. A birth date is usually not given this early, but here it looks loos like he was born 3 Nat h\which is 28 December 1746 and christened 30 December 1746. Witnesses are: Daniel Pedersen [of] Helset [farm], Hans Løeset, Berthe Løeset, Malne Helset. There is nothing else listed about this child listed on these two pages.

Everything to the right of the christening are other activities that took place that same day - Sacrament, engagements, weddings, burials, etc. and has nothing to do with the christening of Peder Pedersön.
Things to consider: Witnesses were usually family members, a first son would usually be named after his paternal grandfather, so Peder Pedersön's first son would also be named Peder Pedersön, it was not uncommon for more than one family to live on the same farm - could this be another Peder's son....

We know the christening record for 1745 is not for a person born in 1722. The family seen in FS tree shows Peder of a child born in 1744 so that also tells us he wasn't christened the same year he had a child. It's always best to work from the known to the unknown. As I look "down" the tree you are working on I see few marriage records and few sources.

My usual method of operation is to go from one person to another finding all sources possible. In this particular case I received a message from FS that I had several people ready to have their work done. I printed their cards and started Temple work on a couple of them. Then noticed that someone was merging people and changing information. So I halted temple work to make sure that I had sources for all people that I have cards for. Then it started getting messy as other people were merging their names with mine, people were being deleted, ID numbers were changing, now I’m totally confused, there are very few sources. So now I’m trying to find sources. I think your right. I should find someone in the tree that I have finished with multiple sources and begin again there, and work back to Peder Pedersen Helset. If you know of someone working on this line, I would be happy to share and collaborate. Please advise me on the best course of action. Thanks.

You are very wise to use caution and work from only sourced information. It's important that records for sacred ordinances be as accurate as possible. We know errors occur but they can be minimized with proper work, which means christening, marriage, census and other records. It's a red flag to me when I don't see any marriage records.
