Zollikon ZH - baptism - 1644 - Thomann - additional text?
I am looking at June 17, 1644 - Record from Zollikon, Zurich. The father is Hans Heinrich Thomann and Mother is Magdalena Abegg. There son is Marx, but there are quite a few words before his name and I am wondering what is happening. Possibly the mother died after childbirth or maybe Marx? I looked up the latin on this "post partum mortea", but there is a word before this? I cannot attach a copy of the page, but it is page 300 in the Zollikon, Zurich records.

Kent Gardiner has kindly sent me a copy - text reads
… statim post partum mortua est …
The mother (mortua) died immediately after giving birth.

Hello, Does it say if Marx died as well?

No - just the mother is mentioned - implicitly by "mortua" indicating a female. For a male (e.g. Marx = Markus) it should be "mortuus" - and for more than a single person "mortui" … if the priest's Latin was "up to standard".
Is the mother listed in the death reacords?

Unfortunately, no. There is a Margareth Abegg died 19 February 1644, but no Magdalena in June of 1644.
I kept wondering if the scribe had messed up the name, but the date is way off and the son Marx is not mentioned in the death record either. He must have lived. I looked a few years after as well for Marx. No death record.

I kept wondering if the scribe had messed up the name, …
Do you mean messed up the mother's name in the baptismal entry? Magdalena Abegg looks plausible: Hans Heinrich Thomann and Magdalena Abegg married 19.11.1633 in Zollikon.

So sorry, I did not clarify. In the death record there is a Margareth Abegg that died 19 February 1644, but not my lady-Magdalena who according to Marx birth record -she died in child birth in June of 1644.
Thank you for all your help. It is truly appreciated.
