Potential Compromise
There's been a LOT of controversy about the new portrait view. Some people love it, some people hate it… Personally, I'm somewhere in between. While there's a lot of great things you can do with it, there's definitely a lot of limitations as it's still being developed.
Would it be possible, as a compromise, to remake and add the old portrait view, and to re-rename the new view back into "Sibling View?" Yes, technology ages and software needs to be updated and sometimes remade, but how difficult would it be to rebuild an exact copy of the old portrait view using the updated software? I don't have too much experience in this specific field of coding, but it might be worth looking in to.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have forwarded this to the engineers. Please watch the Requests under Announcements.

Your suggestion was considered, however, because of the technology of the old Portrait View, it is not possible. That is why the old Portrait View will no longer be available after the end of August.0 -
I'm not quite understanding what about the old view is outdated then. If it's the software that's gotten old, couldn't the new software powering the sibling view also be used recreate the old view? If it's the format of the page, couldn't it be re-styled? I guess I don't get why it can't just be re-built on new software.

I'm sorry, I don't know how the software/technology works either. The only thing I can tell you is that I submitted your request and it is not possible at this time. I'm sure if it could be, they would have implemented it because I know that they want this to be as easy as possible for the transition for everyone to the New Portrait View.
