I'm a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints so genealogy is my duty, not my hobby. I've already done my genealogy in the United States, Canada, France and Norway, going back to the 1500s. I could not use FamilySearch because this organization did not have information on my ancestors. I know they have been in the United States since the mid-1800s and they homesteaded land in Iowa and North Dakota, because I've seen the land patents at the BLO website. However, NOTHING for them comes up in your Full Text Search. My family was stable, honest and law-abiding so it is easy to find them in the records, yet Full Text Search turns up NOTHING on them.

Full-text search doesn't search every record in every location. There are only a FEW record sets currently in the labs project.

Absolutely correct. There are hundreds of collections of images in FamilySearch, However, the current Full Text Search experiment only searches the following image collections.
- 1. U.S. Land and Probate Records 1630-1975
- 2. Mexico, Notarial Records, 1600-1909
- 3. US Plantation Records cs. 1700s-1865
- 4. Victoria, Australia Probates 1853-1976
- 5. Auckland, New Zealand Wills and Probates 1834-1997
