Improving the article on features of the viewer
I am trying to learn use the new image viewer and to help others do so. I would like to give feedback about how the article describing its features could be improved. ( refer to this help article:
)Some of the features are not easy for me to locate in the viewer. If you could show what the icon looks like that I am supposed to click on it would remove the ambiguity.
I will give some examples in case this is helpful.
- "Likes" I do not see a "like" button. I do see an icon of a bookmark and when I hover it says "bookmark". I am not sure if this is the like button or not, but if there were a picture of the like button in the article I would know.
- Recenter. Click to display the photo as it was by default. —I'm wondering click where?
- Full screen Click to display the photo in a full browser screen. — again its not clear where to click to make full screen but if there is a picture of the icon of where to click that would clarify it.
Overall if there could be a screenshot of the viewer in the article with arrows showing where to find different features that would help newbies who are not that familiar with things that might seem very familiar to a programmer. It would be even better yet if there were a button directly on the viewer for "help to use viewer" that pops up with this type of a help diagram.

- Yes, "Bookmarks" replaced "Likes" a few years ago. We can call this out in the help articles. ("Like" was not as popular when people were trying to mark Obituaries, for example. No one really "likes" reading divorce or death records. "Bookmarks" was more clear for some that the memory is being added to a "Bookmarked" folder in your Gallery.)
- "Recenter" is currently called "Reset View". You'll see it as a dot that appears in the upper right corner after a photo is dragged to the side. Next to the + and - icons. I'll try to get a screenshot uploaded.
- You can zoom in and out with your mouse or with the + and - buttons. However, currently there's not a way to show an image as full-screen. The closest would be to add images to an Album and then view the Slideshow. I assume that's not what you are looking for though, so I'll pass along the suggestion to add this. This is what a slideshow looks like, if you're interested:
That said, now that we have moved the Memory Viewer onto new, support technology, we have more options! New Enhancements and new Features are being suggested and considered.
Thank you for any feedback you can add!
