Translation? Abbreviation? Name from 1600 that I've never seen before

I have a mother's name on records of 5 children that looks like Grot. I've never seen anything like it, and can't figure if it's a real name or abbreviation. The record is on the right side, second from the bottom, 19 July. Husband's name is Gioanni Domenico.
