One of the households - my gg grandparents - lived in Ramsjökulle and was listed on that page. In the next subsequent household book, the top of the page is changed to "på socken Ållmänningen" with the same households listed on the page - Ramsjökulle included. So that would be common church land? He was not listed as a torpare and did not have a trade written by his name. I'm a little confused. To complicate it further, one of the sons got married (my g grandfather), he's living at Ramsjökulle still, but now he's a torpare on Torrås Mellomgården. His widowed mother and brothers are also still at Ramsjökulle but they're listed on the page for Torrås Westergården. Any ideas how this could happen or what this means?

I don't have access to Arkivdigital, so I don't know the area or time, but here is what I can based on your description.
First the land was owned by the crown, then the ownership was moved to the municipality (socken). Then the land was given to Torrås or it bought the land. Torrås seems to have been a bigger place so it was divided to Mellomgården (middle) and Westergården (west). Most likely your g grandfather got a new torp close to his mother and brothers, kept the same name but the torp belonged to different gården.
In Torrås there is also a Östergården (east)

Thank you Heidi! Yes, you found the correct parish. In your map the Torrås farm is on the east side of the lake and that's where I thought my g-grandfather lived. But his father lived in Gädedebäckshult Ramsjökulle and his grandfather lived in Brådalen, which are on the west side of the lake. I found an 1890 land survery map which has the Torrås farm on the east side of the lake (as your map shows), but it also has "t. Torrås" on the west side of the lake not far from Brådalen and Gäddebäckshult. So if I'm understanding this correctly, at some point the owner of the Torrås farm could have bought land owned by the parish (and before that owned by the crown) on the opposite side of the lake from the main Torrås farm. And my g-grandfather was listed as a torpare because he had to lease the land from the landowner/farmer? His father, who lived in Brådalen nearby was never listed as a torpare, so when he lived there and it was land owned by the crown or parish, was he not obligated for rent or taxes? Was it considered to be public land? Ramsjökulle is also on the map, so would it be safe to assume that's the location where my g-grandfather lived? Do you know what the "t" in "t. Torrås" stands for or the "3T" in "Ramsjökulle 3T" stands for on the map? And one more question. Could they just make up a name for their farm? So if a father called his farm "Ramsjökulle" his son could also call his farm by the same name?
