- Hello. Im new to this group. Im 100% Greek heritage, joined the church in 1975. I have gotten information from my parents before they passed on their parents, grandparents but that's about as far as I have gotten - Ive done as much temple work as I can for my ancestors.
- My father was born in Corfu and came to the US in 1920's. My mothers parents are from Constantinople and Thessaloniki. They came to the US in the 1920's also. I dont have much more on past generations etc.
- Where should I start now that I have found you? Thanks, Electr

- Hi Electra and Happy new Year. Many archives from different areas of Corfu have been digitized, and they are part of the General Archives of Greece. Unfortunately, for a few weeks, their page is not accessible for a reason that I ignore (it happens often)! If you know the area/village, you could find... treasures, because the archive is very old (from the 17th century I think). Venetial rulers wanted to write down everything, due to tax related reasons. The archives are in Greek though, and you cannot search for a certain person (you have to see all the records to find what you want). The link is here (when it will open again): http://arxeiomnimon.gak.gr/
- For Constantinople, there are various sources that can help you, all in Greek though and it needs great patience, because there are no indexes of the names. One huge archive is the one of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science of the University of Athens. The link is here: http://dlab.phs.uoa.gr/index.php/anthemion
- Are your relatives from Thessaloniki, or did they come from Minor Asia, Pontus etc. and had come to Thessaloniki? If they are locals, you could find info in the Electoral Rolls of 1915 of the city of Thessaloniki. Are they from the city or other villages? This is important to be known. Which is their surname? Very useful too. If they came from Asia Minor as refugees, there are different archives, like a list of the head of every family that came as a refugee, but this is from 1928.
