Help with translation of Mantal Tax Records
I have been following Oluf Torsson on Mantal Tax Records at Alingsås, Sweden from the later 1600’s through earlier years. He resided at the farm Fagerlid. Through all of these he alone is listed then on the 1640 and 1641 records I found a treasure where apparently the family is listed. I am having difficulty with some of the translation. In 1642 and earlier he is apparently listed at the nearby farm Skaftared. I could not find Fagerlid in 1641 but it appears with a different family in 1640. In the records for 1637, 1638 and 1639 Oluf’s first name alone is listed with Skaftared. I would be delighted if I could discover Oluf’s wife and children.
Here are the relevant sections for 1640 and 1641 where it seems the family is listed along with the links to the full pages and followed by my attempts at translation. They are followed by the entry for 1643 when Oluf has moved next door to the Fagerlid farm. I would certainly appreciate any help filling-in the difficult words and correcting any of my mistakes.

Olof Torsson at Skaftared (The T doesn’t look quite like a T) Lars Olofsson?? (The O looks a lot like a B?) Marit Ericksdotter (the wife/mother?) Karin Andersdotter (again not Olufsdotter, whose daughter is she ??)
1643 Entry
Oluf now listed at the Fagerlid farm where he will remain in the future.
Thank you for your help.

Actually in the 1640 and 1641 records I do not read Oluf Torsson, but Oluf Jonsson. The J is very similar to the J directly above in Jonsd[otter]. So it seems to me that these are different people.
1640 Entry:
- Man : Per Andersson at Fagerlid
- Wife : Kristin Biornsdotter? at same farm (is this last name correct?) Kirstin _iresd[otter]
- Female Servant (Lagobonde, abrev) : Ingemar Andersdotter at same farm Ingrin A. (Ingemar is a male name)
- Man : Jöns Gumansson at same farm Jönnß Gunnarson
- Wife : Gunnar Jonsdotter at same farm. Gunni_? Jonsd[otter] (Gunnar is a male name)
- Man : Oluf Torsson at Skaftared (this is the target individual, 8th g grandfather) Oluf Jonsson
- Son : Lars Olufsson at same farm
- Wife?? : Marit Ericksdotter at same farm (is this Oluf’s wife ??) Enk? (widow) Marit E.
- Daughter : Karin Andersdotter at same farm (This should be a daughter, Olufsdotter, not Andersdotter??) she is probably a dotter of Marit, her father might be dead
- Man : Bengt Eriksson (another farm)
1641 Entry:
- Olof Torsson at Skaftared (The T doesn’t look quite like a T) Olof Jonsson
- Lars Olofsson?? (The O looks a lot like a B?) does not look like Lars to me; ?arid?
- Marit Ericksdotter (the wife/mother?) Marit Erikssonn (-son is strange for a woman, but rather clear)
- Karin Andersdotter (again not Olufsdotter, whose daughter is she ??) Karin Andersson
1643 Entry:
- Jönss Gunnarsson i Fagerlyd
- Olluf Toresson at same farm
- Joenn Ollufsson at same farm

Thank you so very much. I can see the "J" in the 1641 entry. I was leaning more on the 1640 entry as a "T" and then carrying that forward to the next year. The widow does make a pathway to explain the daughter as an Andersson. The -son is best for Marit . . . I think I make to many assumptions which lead me astray not giving the writer more credit for writing what they meant to write.
I will need to search more carefully through the 1637 - 1643 records to see if I can find him somewhere, or maybe he just appears in Alingsås in '43.
Your help is always invaluable.
