Ships records and a missing relative
Hi, I have a question I'm hoping someone has a thought on. I've been following a relative leaving Sweden and coming to America. I have his household record in Sweden saying his date of departure. I believe I have him in a manifest in Liverpool for a departing on ship that matches his household record date. He is on a ship regularly taking Scandinavian passengers. I even have a ticket number for the ticket he purchased and the exact departure date, assuming this is the same person. But there is a problem. He's not on the ships manifest when the ship arrives in the US. I've checked all the ships departing Liverpool both before the departure date and after the departure date going 6 months out. If you run his name on the FamilySearch records for passenger lists he is not identified. I am positive he made it to the US as I believe I have his marriage record several years later. He also marries my great grandmother after the first marriage. This assumes I have the correct records as there are multiple persons with similiar names in his US location. I assume ship I have the ship name, the Ship Master, the ticket contract number and his name on the Liverpool manifest he would be accounted for.
So does anyone have any thought where I might look to find him on his day of departure from Liverpool to his arrival in the US. Any ideas are good ideas. Thanks
