Birth date mix up maybe?
Hello, I have a pretty complicated situation:
Rasmus Jensen and Zidsel Nielsdatter have two girls born a year apart--
Kjersten Marie Rasmusdatter GG3Z-WWZ January 1804
Kiersten Marie Rasmusdatter 271Q-Y4Y March 1805
I know that when this happens, the first one usually has passed away and they name the next daughter the same thing. This seems likely because the first has the same birth date as a brother, Niels (which would have made them twins, although Niels survived).
The interesting thing is that the first daughter has a confirmation record with her birth date, Jan 15, on it, but her birth is not listed with her brother's on the image https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L944-H4VK?i=112&cc=2078555 and I haven't been able to find a confirmation record for the second daughter with a birth date of March 1805. Additionally, I haven't been able to find them in the census with their family because they were born after the 1801 census and would likely have been married before the 1834 one. I haven't found any marriage records that I'm sure are either one.
My question is, do you think it's possible that when the second daughter was confirmed, that the first daughter's birth date was used? Or, perhaps, that the first daughter never existed and when the "second daughter" was confirmed they used Niels' birth date instead of her own? Does anyone have ideas for how I could solve this mystery?
Thank you!
