What branch of the service was he in? I wonder if he would have said that he was from NC and been referring to where he was previously stationed?

I can also provide you information about William Jeffrey Martin that was born in 1925 and lived in NC. He is deceased.

Use the website familytreenow.com. Initially you can only enter the name and location,. After viewing the results, you can modify the information and add birth year and other information. Be careful as you explore. There are paid links and plenty of free information. I skip right past the pay links. You can see previous addresses, phone numbers, probable relatives and associates. I can sometimes figure out who the matches are in Ancestry by the information that I can find in familytreenow.com. Then, I would go check the relatives out on facebook or other social media. You have a clue to look for, you will be able to screen by race. When I find someone on facebook that might be the right person, I started looking to see if I can find any of the probably relatives in their friend lists.
The trick here is to research this as much as you can. Gather as much information as you can and don't reach out to anyone until you have enough information. Copy all of the trees of your close matches. When you reach out, sometimes the trees go private and you no longer have access to them. I would also copy what you can find in their social media before you reach out. If you were to be blocked, you would lose access to that informaton. Look for photos and collect these too, just in case they refuse to connect with you. Save all of the precious clues that you can and try to make sense of them.
I create trees for everyone that I can. You can do this in your ancestry tree, even if you do not know how they connect. To insert a new unconnected person into Ancestry, you first connect them to someone and then immediately (without forgetting) you disconnect them. Only do this when you can't be interrupted and accidentally leave a wrong connection.

You might try again and see if you get the same response. If you cannot access it from out of the United States, send me a private message with your email address and I will send you some screen shots. (Just click on my name and you can message directly to me.)

Shan, I have sent you the information on the two William Martins that lived in NC that were born in 1925. The downside is that you won't be able to click on the information for each of his relatives. I believe that all of the blue text is clickable on the site. I wcurrently am not free to bring up the information for each of their possible relatives. Maybe you can reach out and ask more people to do this. I am hoping that you can do it from Wales and that it was just a system glitch that prevented you from doing this the first time.
Does anyone want to volunteer to pull up more information for her? I did a copy and paste of the important info, minuse the ads. When she tries to work with this and the DNA, she might need a partner that can check out some of the names. Perhaps the names from familytreenow.com will match names in her DNA matches. Is anyone available to help with this?

@Shân Dennis It is really disheartening when matches don't answer so I get your frustration. However, I would encourage you to keep at it because there will be information there. If I can be of any help to you with the DNA aspect of your search I am happy to help. However, you may need to share more info than can be responsibly shared publicly here. If you want me to try to help, send me a private direct message and I will give you my email address. I am no expert in these things but I have "been there, done that" so if I can help I will.

Thank you bjnl! It is defintiely a lot easier if we can see the results and can give advice based upon what we see. I love when we can share some basic information here so that others learn from each situation, but you are correct that there are times that it works better to take this to a private message system.

I sent Shan the basic information and showed who his potential relatives are according to familytreenow. However, I have not sent her the information about the individual relatives. bjnl, if you can look at her results and see if any of these names seem to be significant. I agree that creating a tree with the individuals listed is the right direction to go in.

I don't see any matching names with these two I am not certain that he was born 1925 .I am guessing that as he would have had to be 17 to enlist in the airforce ,he would have been born 1925 and after as he was in Wales in 1943 1944 as the baby was born October 44 counting back conception was end of 43 beg 44. I am guessing the COVID !9 is delaying a response to my letter regarding his service . I am so very grateful to you all for your advice and help Thank you so much Diolch yn Fawr as we say in Wales .
