FHL Film numbers/Ballyvaughan, Clare
I am working with a Quinn/Dillon family of DNA matches in Ancestry.com. Today I was seeing a birth index record, with no date, no child name, no child gender, basically worthless, except it did have the parents listed as Michael Quinn and Bridget Dillon. Info from DNA matches trees indicated this couple in Ballyvaughan, Clare, Ireland prior to immigration. The FHL number, 255916, yielded nothing in Fam Search. Since I am a very new, unskilled user, I called in to support. The very nice lady who helped me had no luck. Does anyone here know if there is an available option to scroll thru by dates of Catholic Church records say from 1835-1885 for specific Ballyvaughan, Clare church records for any Quinn/Dillon marriage, births, baptisms, etc.? I did google, and it seems today that area/church falls under the Diocese of Galway. Thank you, Linda

Hi Linda,
You might want to try posting this question in the Irish Community Group too. There are several people in that group who may be able to help you in your search, as they have more specific knowledge of these types of records.
Here is the link:
There are records that can be useful here:
May we wish you success in your research.

Had a quick look on National Library of Ireland Catholic parish records & this was the result
As you can see theres not a lot to be getting on with. Why no marriages?? was the register destroyed at some time? Strange. But- it is Ireland after all!!
Mind you - Im assuming they were catholic.
