Help with Par Olsson's birth record
I am looking for a birth record and parents for Par Olsson, supposedly born May 1777 in Knista, Orebro, Sweden. I went over the birth records in ArkivDigital for that parish as well as Kvistbro just in case but cannot find him anywhere. The records are pretty messed up so I may have missed it somehow. Anybody help?

Do you have a record that you could share that claims his birth was in Knista in May 1777. Something like a household, confirmation, marriage or death record?

I only have a May 1777 from Family Search in Knista, Orebro, Sweden. There are no sources listed there.

It looks like that birth information came from the household record attached to him on FamilySearch saying May 1777 in Knista for Per. If you looked for the birth and could not find anything, you might try finding more household records further back in time to confirm that birth date and place. Then, depending on what you find in those household records, try again to find a birth record.

If you look through all of the household records and they still say May 1777, you might have to look, as Norm suggested, for additional sources like confirmation, marriage, death, or probate records to find information about birth date, place, and parents.

Underneath his name it has a page # in the household record, page 141. Underneath her name it says page 140.
This is him on page 141 (look for drang Peter Olsson born in (1)777: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0000810_00153#?c=&m=&s=&cv=152&xywh=-45%2C1017%2C5015%2C2635 . The record says he got married 19 May and it says he came from Knista in 1794.
This is her on page 140: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0000810_00152#?c=&m=&s=&cv=151&xywh=440%2C380%2C2852%2C1498 . We know this is her because the record says she was also married on 19 May.This says she was born 31 March (1)782 in Mullersater, Kvistbro. This says she is the daughter of the couple at the top of the family, but I suspect she is the step daughter of Olof Nilsson and the biological daughter of Cherstin Ersdotter, b. (1)749. You will have to find her birth record to confirm her parents.
Since there are no moving records for either Knista or Kvistbro for this time period, the next step would be to try to find Par in the household records in Knista and that way you may find his parents. You will have to look page by page through the entire book until you locate him. Keep in mind that Per, Pehr, Peter and Par (Pär) are all equivalent names.

Thank you Norm and Forrest for your research. I'll look at each of those sites---still looking for his parents. His birth record might be there but I just can't read it. The record is really messed up.

I spent some time yesterday looking through the Knista parish birth records and found only 5 possible Per, Par, Pehr or Peter Olssons (or Olofsson-same name) between 1770 and 1785.
They are as follows:
Pehr Olofsson 1 July 1773
Pehr Olofsson 7 Sept 1773
Peter Olofsson 11 April 1776
Pehr Olofsson 1 June 1780
Peter Olofsson 28 Feb 1784
I followed the Peter born on 11 April 1776 (at Brohyttan farm) through the household records because he seemed to be the most likely prospect. He is in the 1783-1788 records on page 89 with his parents Olof Jönsson and Margareta Gustafsdotter (who, unfortunately is listed in his birth record as Margeta Nilsdotter-I believe that whoever wrote the birth record simply got that wrong!). However, in the next household records (1789-1795 page 146) he is not with his family. His mother and 3 of his syblings are there, but his father died in 1790. This Peter may be your guy but there is no record telling where he went which is what you really need. You may want to look through the Knista parish household records for this time period (1789-1795) to see if he is at another farm in the parish. If so, you may be able to follow him to see if he goes to Kvistbro about 1794. That would prove he is the correct person.
