Help finding third great grandparents @ 1800
I don't know where to look for more information on my great great grandfather, Moore Alexander Stuart's MCJX-K5M parents.
He married Mary Robinson LFQX-WCC 16 Nov 1852 in Ballymoney, Antrim, Ireland.
Fathers are Thomas and Henry, respectively (from the marriage record).
Thanks,
Sarah

Now this is an interesting one.
The marriage record IS on irishgenealogy.ie. Thomas Stuarts death record appears to be also. Theres a few Thomas Stuarts that die between 1864 and 1900 but one sticks out . Henry Robinson is not so easy to find - he MAY have died before 1864 the start of civil registration.
As stated above DO check the County Pages link. Specifically look at
Bill Macafees site - its REALLY good research and record sets that you have likely never heard of. Also check
Ballymoney ancestry. Also
"BALLYMONEY GENEALOGY RESEARCH NETWORK" on facebook. They are VERY helpful and have lots of local knowleldge.
Griffiths Valuation - it looks like Thomas Stewart is there. If so you can use this site to find the ancestral homeland (Carnany Upper) however it looks like the original housing has been demolished. If this is the correct homeland then you can use the revaluation books mentioned in this group to track who had the land following the death of Thomas.
Theres loads you can do with this information. Also a trip to proni would be needed to look at the church records fir 1st Presbyterian Church Ballymoney. Get searching and good luck.

The 1901 census would be useful too to add to the wider family. There's a Moore Stewart on it age 74 of Carnany. Very interesting that one. Be aware of the other pages that relate to the property- you can get a feeling for how the family lived i.e. were they prosperous etc.

Thanks Anthony and David,
We are in and out all summer. In August I will have to go toSLC and find someone to help me with these sites. I couldn't find Thomas's death record...
I grew up with the blowpipe of a bagpipe that I assume my great grandfather brought with him when he immigrated. Family lore says somebody was in the Black Watch.
David -I have Moore on have 1901 census. Why is it very interesting? My parents and brother went to Ireland about 1980 and saw the family farmhouse.

The type and size of house would give an indication of the social standing of the family - how many windows to the front , the roof material, how many rooms etc its a useful snapshot of the family. Glad to hear the family home was found.
