Longer event descriptions are difficult to view and edit
With the new person page, we can no longer expand event descriptions to see the entire text on the same page.
To see the entire event description, the user can click the event to see the text in a pop-up or hover over the event to see the text in a black pop-up.
1) For longer descriptions, the black pop-up does not work properly on a smaller screen. It's impossible for me to see the entire event description in the pop-up as my screen is not large enough on my laptop. If I try to scroll down, I lose the range of the event so the pop-up disappears.
Example: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L4JV-JDF
2) Reviewing event descriptions with pop-ups is sub-optimal as we can no longer view all event text on the same screen at the same time. It now takes extra effort to review and edit events. The ability to compare events and follow the timeline of the individual is also more complex because we cannot see everything on the same screen. Can you bring the functionality back where clicking "MORE" or the ellipses at the end of the text will reveal the rest of the text on the same screen?
3) Editing description text is more difficult as the field is very small.
Users have to right-arrow it just to get to the part they wish to edit. Your response was that users need to write shorter event descriptions. As a researcher, sometimes more context is needed to explain an event. Please expand the edit field so we can easily see what we are editing.
Thanks for your help!

@JulieKlar; "As a researcher, sometimes more context is needed to explain an event." Very true.
I'd also like to point out that not everyone is adept at self-editing, able to write clearly and concisely with as few words as possible. Even experienced writers struggle with this. Editors are worth their weight in gold.

Thank you for putting into words things I'm thinking! I also hate the TINY boxes when creating &/or editing sources. It's not uncommon for me to put a fair amount of information within the note section of source (I realize no one but me may ever view it, but that's not the point). The information will display correctly once entered, but it's nearly impossible to view it while I'm TRYING to enter it. And as I'm often copying this information from elsewhere, it's really hard to confirm my information is correct when I can't SEE it all.

@NCErinT, where are you entering sources? If I enter one starting from a profile, from my source box, or from an image, any longform text boxes (Citation, Notes, and reason) always have the "grab here to resize" corners.
(I shrank the Citations box for the screenshot so that the bottom of the reason box would show.)

The option to expand the textbox is missing for event descriptions.

@Julia Szent-Györgyi, thanks for that. I'd never noticed that was an option before - if it was available previously, I'd never needed it.
I'm usually adding additional information found from viewing the scan to the FS version of the record (without a scan), so I'm not always "creating" a new source, but the adjustability is available for those as well.
