Question about information Family Search placed on a record in the tree
Hi,
I came across a person today, Jatty Faulkner ( KH7B-29C ) in the tree that appears to have been created by familysearch back in 2012.
The reason for my query is that the record notes a birth location ( of, Waterford ). Given the scarcity of Irish records back then this fact could be significant as I have been searching for the families home for a while now.
I cannot find out any reference identifying where this fact came from. (I had thought perhaps it came from the marriage data, but I have seen the church record, newspaper articles and her birth location was not noted) My understanding was some civil marriage records were kept after 1860 in Philadelphia and wondered if familysearch had them, but could not find any.
Hopefully someone on this forum that has more experience than I do and could find where this information came from.
Thanks!

Hi John
You sometimes see FamilySearch as a contributor in the Latest Changes column in Family Tree.
In 2012 Family Tree transferred data from a previous system names new.familysearch.org and listed either a specific contributor or FamilySearch. The date is the date the information transferred and not the original contribution date.
If you search Genealogies on FamilySearch (Click on Search and then Genealogies) for Jatty Faulkner, with a date of 1840, you will find the original contribution. The identity of the contributor is withheld for privacy. https://www.familysearch.org/search/ark:/61903/2:1:M9MW-PT9
This comes from the IGI which is a large archive of historical data of unknown accuracy originally submitted by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and that as since been closed.
