Could this possibly be him on entry #40? https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/00136569_00078#?c=&m=&s=&cv=77&xywh=602%2C1822%2C1409%2C1003
If so, any help reading his parent's names and any other pertinent information would be much appreciated!

The parents listed here are Truls Larsson and Sissa Gunnarsdotter. After looking at some household record for this same individual it looks like he likely traveled to America around November of 1895. Does that sound about right? It does look like he was born on the fifth but when copied into other places, the date is consistently the 6th for the rest of his life.
I'll link the documents I was looking at below.

1866-1872
I hope this helps you push back a little farther!

We need more information so we can help you better.
When your Nils Trulsson moved to America?
You have found a birth record for Nils born 5 Dec and christened 17 Dec 1869 in Eggelstad, Tolånga for parents Truls Larsson and Sissa Gunnarsdotter.
Here is their family in household records:

It is possible that Nils is your great grandfather, but you need to follow him through the years.
I followed this Nils for couple books, but then I lost him. It is already my bedtime. If no one can help earlier I will look again tomorrow.

There are some sources for this Nils Trulsson Thelin on a public tree on Ancestry, see: https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/2315873/person/-1845882081/facts?_phsrc=CGt38&_phstart=successSource. This shows the 1920 U.S. Federal Census which says he immigrated with his family in 1904 and also agrees with the Danish Emigration Index from Copenhagen and a UK and Ireland, Outward passenger list for August of 1904. The 1930 U.S. census says he immigrated in 1889? (it's messy) but it must have been recorded wrong because the 1904 sources are definitely them. The household record from Fränninge (1886-1898) even shows that his occupation was a tailor and that his residence was unknown after 1895. This is consistent to get married 1896 in Denmark where he is listed as an apprentice tailor on the birth of Edith Olga Elisabeth Telin (1896) and as a tailor on the Copenhagen emigration record from 1904 going to St. Paul, Minnesota. I think it looks really good.
