Burials - Launcells, Cornwall pre-1830
Burial Records – Launcells, Cornwall
Examples: Nathaniel Gliddon age74, 26 Jan 1823; his wife Charity age 80, 18 Jul 1830 and daughter Honour age 43, 02 Apr 1821 with their abode being Can Orchard. The nearest church is St.Swithin Church a few kilometres away. Nathaniel and his daughter Honour were baptized there and Nathaniel Gliddon-Charity Dyer were married there. The records show that the curate(s) who recorded the records were for this church. I’ve communicated with the local historical society and they tell me that there are no Gliddon markers within the church cemetery. So where could they be buried? These (3) are the newest ones I’m trying to locate.

Lack of burial markers does not necessarily prove that they were not buried there. The chances of a burial marker surviving some 200 years are slim unless it was of a very good quality, particularly outdoors.
