A letter written in Norwegian from my great-grandmother to her son
A Matthew Bagley, recently attached this letter to my great-grandmother's page. His explanation of how he obtained in was as follows.
I was contacted by a lady in the mid 1990s who said she found this letter in a dumpster behind the fast food restaurant she worked at in Provo in the 1970s. She hung on to the letter all those years because she thought someone somewhere might find this letter valuable. She found me and contacted me on the Internet as a descendant of Peter E. Olsen. It looks like a letter from Peter E. Olsen or his second wife Josephine to Josephine's son C.H. Madsen in Price.
Anyone out there, who can read Norwegian tell us what it says?://www.familysearch.org/photos/artifacts/158808868?cid=mem_copy

Looks like Koosharen or Kaasharen , November 1st 1910,
My dearest children,
Thank you so much for your heartfelt letter. My dear son, you do not know how long I have waited (to hear from you). So happy I felt all is well. So sad to hear that Zina is not well, but mother hope all will be fine. If mother was well I would come to see you, but I have been very sick for a while now. She will probably not be better on this side [while here on earth], but I am very thankful it is not worse and that you and the children are doing well. Maybe some of her children can come and see me? Kate and Thelma were here a few hours in August, as well as Thelma's sons. Shirley has not been here, and Frank cannot get ......so you see they cannot come. Mother and Uncle hope that Zina will get better.
Addressed to Mrs. C. H. Madsen Box 417 Price, Utah
from Mrs. Peter E. Olsen

Thank you Liv. I know that it doesn’t say anything life shattering but it’s a sweet letter that has been on a long journey! 93 years to be exact. Thanks Liv
