Am I making the right conclusion on this record?
This is an 1821 Houshold examination in Stångby Socken.
I do not know what Gys. stands for? Most households include this. Any ideas?
I believe Afsk may be an abbreviation for afsekdade which means deischarged or resigned. I believe Hus. stands for Hussar or soldier. Does that sound right?
Age 29 seems young to be leaving the military. How will he provide for his family?

It seems that this column indicates the address of the family. In the Swedish genealogy forum (https://forum.rotter.se/index.php?topic=146793.0) the abbreviation Ghs is explained as Gatehus. This term can be translated as "cottage", a (small) house for a farm worker (and his family) on an estate, typical for Scania. Page 14 in this Swedish genealogy journal (https://www.dis-syd.se/pdf/diskutabelt/2019/2019_4.pdf) has an article about "gatehus" (in Swedish, pls translate with DeepL or Google).
I agree that Afsk. Hus. means a discharged hussar. It was not uncommon that soldiers settled down and worked (again) as farmers when they started a family.

@Ulrich Neitzel Thank you so much again for this information. I am getting the picture and the story is coming together. I should be able to put together a life sketch soon. Your help is very appreciated.
I read pg 14 using google translate. It was interesting, and I feel like I got a bit of the "jist" of it. I have tried to comprehend Swedish land ownership laws in the past and even read a long book about them. It was so different that how it is done in the United States. But I at least have a sense of how it works. I have a sense of the term "cottage." Thanks again.

@Ulrich Neitzel I just bumped into this interesting article in the familysearch wiki which does a good job of explaining about the "gatehus" in southern Sweden. In other words, these folks were cottagers and did not own or even rent by contract any land. They were poor and dependent on the landowner's discretion for a small parcel of land to grow food. Another interesting article about this.
