Hello everyone! I'm a student studying genealogy. My class assignment for this week is to post a question in this group.
My paternal line ends in Preetz, Schleswig-Holstein. His name was Cai Wilhelm Heinrich Johann Unrau. His parents were Claus Unrau and Catherine Bredencamp.
Cai was born the 9th of October 1820, in Preetz, Schleswig-Holstein
I have found him on a census record, as a shoemaker apprentice. Where should I look to learn more?
I know Schleswig-Holstein was part of Denmark. And this area has gone back and forth. I also have my information from civil records created in Hamburg.

@hawnermieke1 hawnermieke1 Thank you so much for taking a look at this!
These records are invaluable!
And for sharing the links. This is where I found my information too. I am so glad you found it so readily, mainly because, I am attempting to gather and assemble possible links. These records are beautiful, for one this one is typed! I had hoped to find possible siblings to Cai, but it gets murky as Unrau isn't an uncommon name, but I don't have family links, plus, there are some oddities here. For one, the records would be in Schleswig-Holstein. I found him on the DanishFamilySearch.com site, in the Danish census records, but there is very little there to work with, even with his parents. I really appreciate you taking the time to look up this information and see what collections are available. When I found these documents for the first time, it was as though I was meeting family for the first time. I am just hoping to learn more about who Cai's extended family was.
Also, it was SO good to see you last weekend at the conference! Did you enjoy it? What was your favorite part? When you are in SLC again, let's get in touch, I would love to see you!

It was great to see you too! Let's keep in touch.
I did enjoy the conference, and making some new connections.
This might be an interesting book for you to check out at the familysearch library.
