Norwegian Last Name/Translation
My family history has a husband named Knut Trondsen. In a farm book it says his job was a Skredder (Tailor).
1. Can the last name of a person on parish record be his job name (Skredder)?
The reason I ask is that I think I found the four kids that are mentioned in the farm book birth records, but some records say Knut's last name is Trondsen or Skredder.
Here are the examples:

The top record is the birth of an illegitimate child named Povel. The parents are soldier Knud Skrædder and Marith Povelsdatter. Muschier (Musgjerd?) is the farm name associated with her name. It looks like the mother's name is mentioned only in an illegitimate birth.
The record for the second Povel does not name the mother. The father is Knut Thronsen Gravem. Names of two of the witnesses in this record match with 2 of the witnesses for the first Povel: Ingebrigt Gravem (there are actually 2 in this record) and Anders (Thronsen) Gravem.
For Tarald, again no mother is mentioned. The father is Knud Skrædder. None of the witnesses' names in this record occur in either of the previous 2 records.
The final record (for Maret) does not list the mother's name. The father is Knud Skradder. None of the witness in this record match any of the witnesses in the other records.
