Swedish American church record help
Carl Johan olson is my ancestor. His parents died leaving him an orphan at about age 2 1/2. I finally found him as a foster child of erik brostom. Don't know how he ended up with them. What does it say between his name and smaland. It is crossed out.

Or give us the parish name, type of record, period of the record and page number so we can find it ourselves.

It says "omkring 4 år (about 4 years old)".

Thank you. I wandered when I saw the 4. The record Is1856- 1864 so for a foster child that makes a big difference. His name is not crossed out, only the 4 yrs. Does that indicate anything? Thank you do much for your help.

At the beginning of the record he would be "about 4 years old", but by the end of the time period (1864) he would have been about 12 years old. Perhaps someone crossed it out for that reason-in 1864 it was no longer true.

Thank you. I can not find him past that book. The foster parents are but not him. Can not find him in death records or census or anything so any little bit helps. Maybe he got adopted and changed his name. Thanks again.
