Does anyone know where this farm is located? Apparently it's near Aalborg.

There are three parishes called Gudum in Denmark, two of which are in what is known as Jutland. One Gudum is in Rinkøbing county and another is in Ålborg county. According to Krabsens Stednavnebase, there is a farm in Gudum, Rinkøbing county called Hvistendal. Do you have a record where the farm name appears? If so, could you share that?

- I saw on Ancestry.com that an man died in Hvistendal, Gudum, Denmark.
- A Norwegian acquaintance told me he had been to the original family farm. He said it was between Struer and Lemvig on the Linfjorden fjord in Northern Jutland. He said it is now a pig farm.
- Family search mentions the name Hvistendahl as an example of a family named after a location. It is in their article Danish Naming Traditions.
- In Gudum Parish, Romkøbing, Denmark Genealogy "Hvistendal" is listed as a place name.
- In an article about Christian Madsen Hvistendahl (1676-1736) it mentions that he was named after the family farm.
That's five locations I have see a reference to the farm, but I can't find it anywhere. Thank you for your help. Are you in Denmark? I am in North Dakota, USA

I live near Ogden, Utah. I work in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah a couple of days a week.
Here is a great website for Danish research called DanishFamilySearch (no connection with Family Search): https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/
They have great information about Denmark and Danish genealogy.
I think that this link in DanishFamilySearch will get you the information that you are requesting: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/sogn1311/stednavne38818. It shows the farm Hvistendal (the green box in the middle of the map) in Gudum parish, Rinkøbing county. If you zoom out on the map, it will show you the location of Hvistendal in Gudum parish.
