@GradyJanetIrene1 GradyJanetIrene1 I am going to move this over to the All Temple and Family History Consultants group where they will be a great resource to you for your calling. Thank you for asking a very good question.

I am sorry, &, I hope not to offend; but, from the appearance of your "Contact Name" (ie. 'GradyJanetIrene1') you appear to be a Sister!
.
Yet, you say that you are the "Family History Leader" for your Ward. Is that term/'Calling' of "Family History Leader" synonymous with that of the 'Calling' of "Ward, Temple & Family History, Leader"?
.
The reason that I ask for a distinction in the terminology of those 'Callings', is that the actual GENERIC Church 'Calling' of "Ward[/Branch], Temple & Family History, Leader" is ,in fact, must be, a Melchizedek Priesthood holder.
.
Or, are to talking about your 'Calling' being that of a "User-Defined" 'Calling' (ie. specific to your Ward; &, NOT a GENERIC Church 'Calling') of "Ward, (Temple and Family History), Indexing Leader"
.

5. The Work of Salvation in the Ward & Stake
.
Although the Bishop[/Branch President] retains ultimate responsibility in these areas, he may delegate as follows:
- The Ward[/Branch] Mission Leader coordinates member missionary work if one is called (see 5.1.1).
- If a Ward[/Branch] Mission Leader is not called, a member of the Elders Quorum Presidency leads Missionary Work for the Ward[/Branch].
- The Ward Temple & Family History Leader coordinates Temple & Family History Work if one is called (see 5.4.1).
- If a Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader is not called, a member of the Elders Quorum Presidency leads Temple & Family History Work for the Ward[/Branch].
.
5.4 Temple & Family History Work
.
5.4.1 Bishop & His Counselors
.
The Bishop[/Branch President] holds the keys for the work of salvation in the Ward. With his Counselors, he oversees Temple & Family History Work in the Ward[/Branch]. However, he may assign the Elders Quorum President to lead this work under his direction. Generally, the Elders Quorum President delegates this assignment to one of his Counselors.
.
The member of the Elders Quorum Presidency who leads Temple & Family History Work may function as the Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader or may supervise the Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader. Through inspiration, the Bishop[/Branch President] determines whether to call a Temple and Family History Leader or to have a member of the Elders Quorum Presidency function in this role.
.
5.4.2 Ward Council
.
The Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader (if called; see 5.4.1) or members of the Elders Quorum & Relief Society Presidencies assigned to Temple & Family History Work may be invited to discuss topics.
.
5.4.3 Organizing Temple & Family History Work in the Ward
.
5.4.3.1 Elders Quorum Presidency & Ward Temple & Family History Leader
.
The Bishop[/Branch President] may assign the Elders Quorum Presidency to coordinate Temple & Family History Work for the Ward[/Branch] Council. The Relief Society Presidency may work closely with the Elders Quorum Presidency & the Temple & Family History Leader (if called) to encourage Temple & Family History Work in the Ward[/Branch].
.
For information about calling a Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader or having a member of the Elders Quorum Presidency fill that role, see 5.4.1.
.
The Melchizedek Priesthood holder who serves in the role of Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader:
- Coordinates the Ward’s[/Branch's] Temple & Family History efforts, including the development & implementation of the Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History plan (see 5.4.3.2). He may attend Ward[/Branch] Council meetings when invited.
- Conducts Temple & Family History Coordination Meetings & directs the Work of Temple & Family History Consultants.
- Directs the Work of helping members prepare for the Temple & organizes Temple instruction, activities, & trips.
- Coordinates with members of the Ward[/Branch] Council, the Ward Mission Leader, & the Full-Time Missionaries to provide Family History experiences, especially for those learning the gospel, new & returning members, & children & youth preparing to receive a Limited-Use Temple Recommend.
- Under the direction of the Bishop[/Branch President], works with the Elders Quorum Presidency to assign Consultants to serve in the Family History Center[/Centre] as needed.
.
5.4.3.2 Ward Temple & Family History Plan
.
The Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader or a member of the Elders Quorum Presidency (see 5.4.1) may lead the plan’s development.
.
5.4.3.3 Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Coordination Meeting
.
To help coordinate Temple & Family History Work, a Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History coordination meeting may be held. The meeting would be held regularly. The Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader, if called (see 5.4.1), conducts the meeting with Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Consultants.
.
5.4.4 Temple & Family History Consultants
.
Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Consultants serve under the direction of the Ward[/Branch] Temple & Family History Leader or a member of the Elders Quorum presidency (see 5.4.1).
.
Therefore, as I opened with, the "Ward[/Branch], Temple & Family History, Leader" MUST be a Melchizedek Priesthood holder ...
.
In relation to your Ward; &, the "Indexing Group" for you Ward ...
.
Who are the "Admins" that are listed for the "Indexing Group" for you Ward?
Is that what you are talking about?
.
You may want to contact the "Admins" of the "Indexing Group" for you Ward, they can possibly help you
.
Failing that, you may want to contact the "Admins" for your "Parent (Indexing) Group" being your "Stake Indexing Group", they can possibly help you; or, if not point you in the right direction.
.
As far as I am aware, your Ward Clerk has provision in on of the 'Membership System' of the Church, "Leader & Clerk Resources" (LCR), to add only the following GENERIC 'Callings' of:
(1) "Ward, Temple & Family History, Leader"; &,
(2) "Ward, Temple & Family History, Consultant; &,
(3) "Indexing Worker"; but,
that is all.
.
I hope this helps.

As explained by Bret above, the current instruction is that each ward should have a Ward Temple and Family History Leader who is a priesthood brother. If no one is specifically given this calling it is the Elder's quorum president.
Each ward should also have Ward Temple and Family History Consultants who work with ward members to teach them individually.
If someone is assigned to help oversee Indexing, they can be designated as a Ward Temple and Family History Consultant and be given an assignment specifically for indexing. If someone is assigned to do indexing, they can be given a calling as an Indexing Worker.
The ward clerk generally out the information into the MLS system where callings are listed.
Hope this helps.

FYI
.
The Membership application system is NOT/NO LONGER "Member and Leader Services" (MLS) anymore; as, that is only really still operating and used for "Finances" now.
.
The Membership application system is, now, really, "Leader and Clerk Resources" (LCR) where Clerks enter 'Callings'.

I have another "spin" on the matter now ...
.
It came from another recent post ...
.
=====
When I sign on to the Web Indexing page and look at the group for our ward I am seeing many of our members, and some consultants, entered there as a Family History Leader.
--------
Each ward has one Temple and Family History Leader. I do not know how all these folks were entered as Family History Leaders but when I click the option to "Manage Roles" my only option which shows up is to create that person as an administrator. HOW can I correct all these title errors?

.
My response to the aforementioned post ...
.
I am certainly no expert; but, you do not need to do anything.
.
That is NOT a 'Calling' it is ONLY a 'Role'.
.
Most Members with a 'High' level 'Calling', with responsibility in, "Temple and Family History" Work (possibly, any 'Auxiliary' Leader - eg. Relief Society) WILL have THEIR 'Role' listed as a "Family History Leader" of some sort.
.
No need to worry/panic.
.
All good.
.
I hope this helps.
