Russian Family Research Question !
Hello !
I am new here and I do not really know where to put this question at, so I apologize in advance.
So I have ancestors from Russia from the 1800s as I know of, and would like to research more on this family but I can find no records in my own language and English sources in Ancestry or MyHeritage.
All I know is that they are from EITHER Aleksandrov, Vladimir Oblast' in Russia or Aleksandrovsk, Yekaterinoslav Governorate ! I have names of my ancestor and his parents !
I hope to hear from someone somehow, I don't know how this works.
Thank you!

Welcome to the Community. We can certainly help you with research.
Do you have names of these ancestors and dates (birth, marriage, death, etc.) that you can share with us? Where did you find the names of these locations?
If they are from Vladimir Oblast, those records are most likely in the State Archives of the Vladimir Oblast (see this website for more information: http://metrics.tilda.ws/russia_am#rec7519830) These records are not available online, but the archive does have some inventories of their holdings online which are linked on the above page. The page is in RUssian, but if you use the Google Chrome browser and right click anywhere on the page, you can choose the option Translate to English.
As for Yekaterinoslav, that's today in Ukraine, in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Records for this area are available through FamilySearch. They are not indexed though and are only digital images. You can find church records for the city of Aleksandrovsk here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=974325&query=%2Bplace%3A%22Russia%2C%20Ekaterinoslav%2C%20Aleksandrovsk%2C%20Aleksandrovsk%22&subjectsOpen=974324-50. Aleksandrovsk is also a district/county and it's possible they could be from a smaller village within that county.
Being as there is some confusion on exactly where they are from, I think we should first look at any documents or family tradition, etc. that list where they came from in the Russian Empire and then go from there :)
Hope this helps!
