Help verifying place of birth in Sweden.
My grandmother sent me information that one of her cousins collected on my 2nd great-grandfather that came over from Sweden. They have since passed so I can't ask them about their research.
What they say: Charles John Anderson was born on 10 Aug 1864 in Fläsås, Hults parish in Sweden to Andrew John Anderson (born: 12 Aug 1831) and Katherin Marie Johnsdotter/Johnson (born: 12 May 1834). They immigrated to Iowa on 8 Jun 1868. Charles married Emma Marie Olson on 4 Feb 1890 in Iowa. He mentions disparities between seeing Andrew P in American records and Andrew J in Swedish records.
What I found: A marriage record for "Chas. J Anderson", son of an "A P Anderson" and "Mary Johnson" to "Emma Ohlson" on 4 Feb 1892 and various US census records of the family with Charles's parents that I know are correct. Charles's death record says he was born in what looks like "Songland", Sweden, but is most likely Småland.
In Swedish records, I couldn't find any one matching that exact description in Hults parish, but I did find a birth record in Hults parish for a Carl Johan born 10 Aug 1863 to "And. Pet. Andersson" and "Cath. Maria Petorsdotter" living in "Olofstorp". That family in the household examination records moved to North America in 8 Jun 1868.
ID: 96VH-7CJ appears to be mine but looks very muddled.
I can't tell if these are the same families or different families or where to go next. Thank you for any help!

Carl Johan Andersson born 10 Aug 1863 to Anders Petter Andersson and Catharina Maria Pettersdotter living in Olofstorp, Hult, Jönköping, Sweden (This place is in Småland county).

Anders Petter Andersson (b. 12 Sept 1831 in Hult) and Catharina Maria Pettersdotter (b. 12 May 1833 in Mellby) were married in Mellby 25 Jun 1857.

All names and dates match with enough accuracy. There is a Fläsås in Hult parish but there is no family with these names. In Olofstorp the family is found and the immigration information which matches exactly with the information in US.
This is your 2nd great-grandfather who came from Sweden.
ID: 96VH-7CJ could be yours, but Charles J. Andersson's first siblings are not correct. When family moved to America there were only father, mother and one son. In household records there are no notes about any other siblings. Though I did not look birth and death records if any babies were born who died in infancy.

Thank you for finding all that! That was also the conclusion I came to. He was most definitely and only child. I am getting confused because on Charles's marriage record to Emma on 4 Feb 1892 in Essex, Page, Iowa, his mother is listed with the last name Johnson, while it says Petersdotter in the swedish records, and I don't know where he would have gotten Fläsås from. I can't find the marriage record on FamilySearch, but I have it on Ancestry.
