Population of Hishult parish, Halland County, Sweden in the 1800s
I am looking for the population of Hishult parish in the 1800s. Can you direct me to a source that would have that information? (1800, 1810, 1820 etc.) I really don't want to hand count the people in the Clerical Surveys. :-)

Did you try to add the people into FamilyTree at Familysearch? This might give you hints for extra sources, shown by lightblue icons.

Bodil, thank you for responding. I am not looking for information about individuals. Instead I am looking for how many people lived in Hishult parish....a population. I just thought maybe there was a statistical compilations of numbers of people in the parish. I think the number might be around 900 or so, but I am not wild about counting individuals in the clerical surveys....because of the obvious difficulties.

Bodil, I think I get it now. You are right. Using the Mantals tax records may be the way to go to get an over all population of the parish in a particularly year. I have the total of the country. Thanks for your help.
