What does the S' mean on a death record? "S' ignonome e genitori"
I don't understand the part of this death record where it shows the father, mother and possible wife of the deceased, Pasquale Arena. It Looks like Pasquale is the son of Domenico Arena but then possibly that name is crossed out? and then another name is listed, Giovanni Avilio and then it says something like "S' Ignonome e genitori which to my best guess means unknown name and parents, so why are the two father's names written? And what does the S' mean before ignonome? And what does it say after Domiciliato? Does it list his wife's name? Any help would be appreciated. Just FYI, when you are using the english language version of Antenati and copy a link, you have to remove the "?lang=en" from the end of the URL otherwise it won't work.
You are correct that some names were written and then underlined/boxed out as an error and replaced with "s'ignorano i genitori"; s'ignorano is a contraction of "si ignorano". I.e., the persons reporting the death don't know the name of the parents of the deceased. No surprise, he's about 80 and a shepherd so his parents likely died long before the informants were born.
No spouse listed. Looks like he lives in town, on Strada Capo di Sopra (which still exists: https://goo.gl/maps/3X3e9DvBheEdPhN5A)
