    @Martha Murray

    Good morning Martha,

The following will help and perhaps another community member can fill in the two remaining blanks:

Zeugen Ludwig Lentz II Bürger und Landwirth, ___ auch Mitglied des kirchlichen und weltlichen Gemeinderaths in Neuenheim und ______  Bürger und Weingärtner Johann Adam Hormuth; das Kind war alt sieben Monate und fünfzehn Tage.

Comments: There is a short word before "auch", perhaps "ein"?

Regarding the blank before "Bürger": The word begins with a "d" and is possibly a word which means "from here/there" or "local".

    Hi Robert:

I agree that the word before auch is ein. Good catch!

Could the other blank be a sloppy daselbst?

    You're the best!

    Hi Martha,

I don't see the letter "b" in that "d" word and the word possibly ends with "sige".

    Hi Robert:

I agree with "d" word and the word possibly ends with "sige." Yet I can't find a word that remotely comes close.

Hopefully someone will have a suggestion.

    Hi Martha and Robert,

the word before "auch" is "wie"; "wie auch" means "as well as".

From the meaning in the sentence the word(s) in the other blank should be either "des hiesigen" or "des dortigen". Unfortunately the handwrting of pastor Bürck is rather careless so it is difficult to decide; I would vote for "dortigen".

BTW: the word after fünf und zwanzigsten is "desselben" (of the same) , not "daselbst".

    Hi Ulrich

Pastor Bürck is getting old by 1854 and his handwriting is getting very sloppy. I'd be surprised if he didn't have a touch of arthitis. He has been at it close to thirty years. We are lucky as we have computers.

That is the 1st time I have seen wie auch.

I think you are right as Robert Seal and I both thought it started with a D.

I always mix those two up. Thank you for catching it.
