Census, church and military records maybe helpful. Can you share more information, a parish and county? How do you know of this illegitimacy, a record would be helpful. Links to images are so appreciated if you have them.

That was all she knew. They know the baby was illegitimate because he is her husband's great grandfather. She has looked in all the records you listed. Part of the problem is they have no way of knowing which Thorn Rasmussen is their ancestor because there are a lot of Rasmussen.

Actually I was hoping the church records might be similar to those in England. They state of the child is baseborn and list both parents.
