Vermont research
We are looking for the parents of James Wheeler who was born circa 1802. According to his military records he hails from Addison. We are not certain if it is Addison, VT or Addison County, VT. The 1810 census has several Wheeler males living in Addison County with "male children under the age of 10". We have been to New Haven, VT which had the largest number of Wheeler males in the census, unfortunately many town records were lost in a fire. Where do I do from here? His military records indicate previous to enlistment that he was a farmer.
In NH each county has a registry of deeds. Does that exist in Vermont and if so are those records accessible on-line?

Can you give us his FamilySearch record ID? It would help with our search.
