Need help finding information about my grandmother's parents.

My grandmother's parents. Her mother (Viola Billings) abandoned the children and her father was too sick/poor to care for children. They were all taken away and put in an orphanage. Her father was Charles Joseph Montague. My grandmother was told that he died and that is why they were taken away. However, I was able to locate his death certificate under name Joe Montague to confirm that he died after the children were sent to the orphanage. He died Nov 1, 1932. Born approximately 1867. Some documents indicate he was born in Montreal, Canada. But another document indicates Massachusetts.
