Julian,
What are your great parents names and their FamilySearch ID'?
The following is a good place to start: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Egypt_Genealogy#Getting_Started_with_Egypt_Research
Thank you for using the Community.

Their names are Israel Theophilus Altaresky (later John Theophilus Alterskye) and Adela Altaresky (later Adelaide Alterskye). I do not know of a FamilySearch ID.
I have already followed up everything on that page you linked to, which is why I posted here to try to find where vital records are located in Egypt. Unfortunately the Egyptian Government website, that looks so promising, does not work for me (all HTML links fail).

I found their ID's on Family Search. They are LYZN-NFQ and LYZN-599. So far have not found any death records for them.

Thank you. But that's not an original record. I don't understand how that helps.
I am trying to locate their actual death records in archives in Egypt, not family tree entries on FamilySearch.

I understand what you are saying, I thought maybe some hints might come up that would help. Are you sure they died in Egypt? Have you contacted the person who input the information into FamilySearch? I did notice the record for their daughter Dorothy being born in Palestina.
The only other thing I have come up with so far is https://avotaynuonline.com/2007/07/the-jews-of-modern-egypt-and-their-records-by-yves-fedida/.
I am sorry I haven't been more helpful.

Thanks for trying!
That original person was LynnShotts I believe - unfortunately she entered that data in FamilySearch by copying it from my Ancestry family tree!!
I am certain that they died in Egypt - the family moved there in 1912 and my father was living there in their household when they died. Unfortunately they weren't UK citizens themselves, even though my grandmother was through marriage, so there are no British Consular records about them.
This bit is quite a challenge. I shall next contact the Egyptian Embassy here in the UK.
