Hi, I am trying to find information on my late biological father but have scant information. JOHN AN
He married my mother Elizabeth Hume on 3rd Dec 1938 at that time he lived with his mother at 21 Victoria Road, Grangetown. He was a locomotive fireman at Ironworks. I think he had a sisters called Amelia and Mary, a brother William They divorced in 1957 but separated in 1943/5
so I have no knowledge of him from that time, he may have remarried. It would be nice to know if I have any relatives or remote connections.
any assistance would be truly appreciated. Sandra

As an aside ...

Just in case ...

I am "Tagging" this 'Question' of yours, in the 'Group' being "England Genealogy Research", in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, to the 'Group' being "Adoption and Unknown Family Research", in the Forum; so that, the members of that group can answer/assist you.
.
That Group is "Public", which you can join, if you wish.

Have you done a DNA test? In this day and age, that might be the best way to find close relatives.

Hi, yes I have considered this, but am not ready to take that option yet, but thanks for suggestion

Set up a tree in FamilySearch (or in Ancestry), and let it work for you.
Put in what you know
Click on names of contributors to each person starting with your first deceased ancestor.
Email them through each program's messaging system. You'll be surprised at the connections you will make.
Without DNA you'll only have what each of you thinks or what you've been told, but it's a start.

Hi,
I took the liberty and added his actual birth date to his FamilySearch profile. Ancestry search then gave me his death record, matching that birth date -
Name: John Anderson
Death Age: 88
Birth Date: 4 Sep 1912
Registration Date: Jan 2001
Registration District: Middlesbrough
Inferred County: North Yorkshire
Register Number: D11A
District and Subdistrict: 3481D
Entry Number: 209
You may order that certificate and see what it says and who registered it.
