I am new to familysearch are there tutorials on how to use the site. One of the main questions is, I have logged in so that it shows hints on my family tree maker file. But when I click on the hint I cannot tell where the hint is from, IE: is it from a family tree ( and who owns the family tree), or is it a church record, etc. Any guidance/assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

If you are new to FamilySearch there is a very good Help menu including training of all kinds to help you get started. Select the Help (?) icon and then select either the Family Tree icon or the Learning Center icon, then you will find a list of FAQs listed with suggestions, or you can type in a few keywords to find more knowledge articles.
Check out this great external link: https://www.thefhguide.com/
Just select FamilySearch from the top menu and start your self-paced course of 8 lessons to get you up to speed on how to navigate FamilySearch / Family Tree with confidence.
There is a FamilySearch blog that you can follow to keep up with future changes and search for past blogs to help you get started: For example: How to Connect to a Family Member’s Tree https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/how-to-connect-to-a-family-members-tree/
. . . then use the search box at the top of the blog with keywords to find much more.
Visit: https://www.familysearch.org/rootstech/rtc2021/
Select the Sessions link in the top menu and type "Getting Started with FamilySearch" and you will find enough demo sessions to make you feel comfortable with many aspects of FamilySearch.
I will provide a link to get you started, though there were over 1500 sessions at the recent Rootstech virtual conference. Free to access any of the sessions till Feb 2022.
... and there is an army of volunteer support staff that are well trained to answer any questions you have. You can call the 866-406-1830 help desk or go to your Help menu, select Contact Us and you can Chat or send a lengthy email with attachments as needed, and they will respond usually within 24 hours.

Buon proseguimento.
