Bob, Charles' parents are in FamilySearch, if I have the correct line. I have a lot of Hicks, Southcomb, Dennis, Yeo, in that area:) Charles Hicks married to Elizabeth Deeble, his PID in FS is: LCYQ-LPH
It lists his parents as Francis Hicks (b. 1689) and Susannah Rawlings. Francis' father is Charles Hicks, born 1655. It goes back further. There are sources attached.

Not that I can be of much help ...

As an aside ...

Have you, seen; and/or, tried, this in the 'FamilySearch' "Wiki":

St Tudy, Cornwall Genealogy
https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/St_Tudy,_Cornwall_Genealogy
.
There appears to be some links to 'On-Line' websites there.
.
I hope this helps.

Try www.cornwall-opc-database.org Or google Cornwall OPC online. I have had a lot of luck. They do not have everything but a lot of BDM and also poke around the site as they had other odds and ends. I found my ancestors went to south America and then Australia and even a ship they were from this site through someones research..

I have Hicks ancestry as well, both in Devon and Cornwall. Let me check my info and get back to you! Although it gets more difficult pre 1700.

The line goes back to John Hicks born 1536, I think in Golant, Cornwall.

Thank you KMS. That helps a lot to cancel out the other line.
