23, 1718 - found in Bredared. Not sure I have the right names together. Need to find the marriage which I think would be around 1696-1700. If you could guide me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

There are indexes to the Borås marriage records from 1642-1683 and 1683-1718 on Släktdata, see https://register.slaktdata.org/reglists/?filter=B. I did a search in the DISByt database and did not see the family. In looking at the table of contents for the Borås CI:1 Ministerial book, it looks like after 1653 the pastor created separate sections for the births marriages and deaths in the book. There are no household examination records this early, so you will need to use a combination of mantals tax records and birth, marriage, and death records to construct the family.

 

Without moving information in the household examinations and not having moving-in or -out records you may need to do some area searches in the parishes around Borås. You might want to contact the Borås Släktforskare genealogical society to see if they have any indexes or other information about this family. Their email address is adm.bsf@telia.com.

Thank you for helping me. I will try the Släktdata. I can see where it gets harder to go back into the 1600's for records. I am thankful for what I have been able to find so far. They did keep very good records if you know where to look.
