I have a very old letter from Lime, it was written in 1818. I have assumed that Lyme and Lime are t
letter doesn't indicate that information. Would Lime have been older way of spelling Lyme, New London, Connecticut? I would like to give you a FamilySearch record ID, but I have not been able to link the writer of the letter to anyone in the file yet. I can link her to the person she is writing to, but there are several generations in between the two that are not yet known.

This is a tough one. There are more than one Lymes in New England. Without a state name it may be impossible to determine from where the letter was sent. If there are peoples names in the letter it would be good to create FamilySearch records for them and see if they are already in the system. Don't worry about duplicating records since that can all be resolved over time.

Let us know when you have the document uploaded and an ID# of whom. People love researching these things, may find links in census family lists....
