this is Italian registry of births (nati), deaths (morti) and marriages (matrimoni). It’s all handwritten in Italian and can be hard to decipher if can’t read Italian. Organized by province and then town (comune). Not all years or towns are in registry yet. If your year is listed then just look for name after bambino (male) or bambina (female). Some years have an index either at beginning or end of each year. Look for index first to find GF name and number in register, then just go to page with his name for complete birth record, with parents names. If no index for your year then you must look page by page for GF record. It’s organized from Jan-Dec. it may get time consuming so be patient. GOOD LUCK!
This registry consists of photos of each page. Some pages are very legible and others may not be easy to read.

Thanks for the kind reply. This is a very interesting and useful site. Unfortunately the records for these years are not available for Imperia sezione Sanremo. I found the years corresponding to the Stato Civile Napoleonico (early 1800s) and Stato Civile Italiano (starting 1866). Cheers!

Here is an article from the FamilySearch Research Wiki that may be helpful. It lists records online and also talks about where to write to Italy for record. Good luck in your research.

Here's some info from Indettaglio on Sanremo in Imperia province: http://italia.indettaglio.it/eng/liguria/sanremo.html#chiese for parishes; for the government offices http://italia.indettaglio.it/eng/liguria/sanremo.html#amministrazione.
I always suggest that you contact via phone or email for better results. If you need to know what to say follow this guide in the FS Wiki--https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Italy_Letter_Writing_Guide. You may need to do a Google search for up-to-date info. (Also, if you need the FS Wiki has a useful vocabulary list https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Italian_Genealogical_Word_List.)
Good luck!

It may take a while to get a response and you may have to write more than once! Good luck.
